Tim Maloney from Dearborn Steel Tubing 1964 427 Thunderbolt project by Gessford Machine 4/21/2000
Goal:
Build a set of Edelbrock 427 76 CC heads into 80CC heads to work with Tim's pistons and get to 10.2:1 Compression Ratio. Find and polish a Tunnel Wedge Intake 2X4 manifold. Check piston to valve and bore clearances.
Task:
Machine The head's chambers and install the larger valves and still increase the chamber to the larger 80CC's.
Results:
Use a Shelby block (10.150") to check the Piston to valve clearance with an equal piston that's in Tim's engine in Michigan. We're using the new camshaft that Tim will install in his engine.
Have a tunnel wedge polished by Squeaky's Metal Polishing
Machine the heads from factory 76CC to 80CC to get the 10.2:1 compression required.
